Backups

Your books are backed up every night.

• The backup runs each night at 02:30 British time.
• Every backup is encrypted.
• The backups are kept on our server in Germany, and a second copy goes every night to a Hetzner storage box in Helsinki, Finland.
• Restore tests run regularly: a backup is brought back into a separate test database, so we know it comes back whole.

When an account is closed, its books stay 90 days for export. A closed account is gone from all backups within 12 months.
